Vilnius: The Guardians
The road beneath your boots was familiar - the rough edge of the pavement, the slow rise of the hills, the scattered houses giving way to the city’s old breath. You’d walked this path before. Vilnius was not new to you. You had wandered its winding streets, lingered in its cafés, watched the light change on the spires at dusk many many times before. But this time was different. You didn’t come for a friend, or a plan, or a reason. Only a feeling.
There had been a dream, maybe. Or a half-remembered thought. Something calling you back - not loudly, but insistently, like the scent of smoke on clothes long after the fire’s gone out. As you passed through the last of the trees and caught your first glimpse of the city’s rooftops, the clouds shifted overhead. A gust of wind swept through, and then… you saw it. Half-buried in a patch of moss, nestled beside an old milestone stone - a book.

Worn. Leather-bound. Ancient, but warm to the touch.
You knelt. Picked it up. There was no title, just the symbol of a wolf’s head pressed into the cover, silent and watching.
It didn’t feel lost. It felt… left for you.
Challenge #1
Now that you have opened the path, you must prove you are ready.
Vilnius is a city built from a dream - a place born not of conquest, but of vision. Its founder saw a great beast atop a hill, and from that vision rose walls, towers, and legend. Enter the year when Vilnius was first mentioned in written records. Only then will I know you are truly the chosen.
Congratulations!
Your answer has opened the old heart of the city. Vilnius has acknowledged you. But this is only the beginning. Will you go further?
